Mr. Adeel Shahid Karim holds an LL.M. (General) from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, with a specialized focus on International Law, Arbitration, Business, and Securities Laws. His advanced legal education provides a strong foundation for handling complex cross-border legal matters, particularly in dispute resolution and corporate law. He also earned his LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of London International Program, equipping him with comprehensive knowledge of common law principles and international legal frameworks.

He has collaborated with Makhdoom Ali Khan, Senior Advocate Supreme Court, on high-profile Supreme Court cases, and with Mr. Jawad Hassan, Advocate Supreme Court, on national and international arbitration proceedings, including commercial and investor-state disputes. His experience in arbitration-related court matters strengthens his capability to navigate complex dispute resolution mechanisms.

Since joining the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) panel in 2018, Mr. Karim has played a pivotal role in over 400 tax cases, including Reference Applications, Appeals, and Constitutional Petitions before the Lahore High Court and the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR), establishing him as a leading advocate in tax litigation.

Mr. Karim also advises high-profile companies on corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, taxation strategy, and FinTech and digital economy matters. He has appeared before the Company Bench of various High Courts in matters including mergers, acquisitions, and shareholder disputes.

His civil litigation practice, particularly in property and land disputes, has yielded favorable judgments in several landmark cases across Pakistan. Mr. Karim is also a recognized legal scholar and co-author of “Access to Justice in Pakistan”, and has contributed to legislative drafting, including the Commercial Courts Act, in collaboration with the Ministry of Law and the World Bank.
