Justice Fazal Karim

Justice (R) Fazal Karim was a distinguished jurist, scholar, and author whose contributions profoundly shaped Pakistan’s legal landscape. Over a judicial career spanning more than three decades, he served with distinction as a Judge of the Lahore High Court and later as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. His jurisprudence, marked by clarity, intellectual rigor, and unwavering commitment to the rule of law, continues to guide courts and practitioners across the country.

Beyond the bench, Justice Karim was a pioneering legal scholar. His seminal works—Access to Justice in Pakistan, Judicial Review of Public Actions, and Change is the Only Constant—remain foundational texts in constitutional, administrative, and procedural law. As a senior faculty member at the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (LUMS), he mentored a generation of lawyers, judges, and academics, instilling in them a deep respect for constitutionalism, fairness, and disciplined legal reasoning.
